3Rs awards

The FC3R awards yearly “3Rs Prizes” to researchers and animal caretakers whose work has a major impact on the development and implementation of the 3R principle in France.

3Rs prizes

Each year, the FC3R Scientific Committee awards 3Rs Prizes to honour French people or people working in a French academic research structure whose commitment has made a significant contribution to replacing, reducing or refining animal experiments:

• A “Culture of Care” 3Rs prize, to a person working with laboratory animals (animal technicians & engineers, veterinarians, members of SBEA, CEEA...) whose values, ideas and actions enable the proactive implementation of the 3Rs. They can be candidates / nominated individually or as representatives of a group.

• A “Research” 3Rs prize to reward exemplary research into the development and implementation of the 3Rs. Application’s evaluation will be based on a recent scientific publication (less than 3 years old) of which the applicant - a young researcher, engineer, technician or student - is an author.

Each application - or peer nomination - will be judged by the FC3R Scientific committee. The winners will receive their prizes at the "Journées françaises des 3R".

By awarding these 3Rs prizes, the FC3R aims to reward the members of its community for their exemplary commitment, to highlight their positive actions, but also to encourage and inspire new initiatives in order to further promote and implement the 3Rs in France.
