FC3R promotes and supports the application of the 3Rs principle in scientific projects in favor of responsible and innovative research.
Founded in 2021 by a group of major public research operators at the request of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the GIS FC3R aims to become the reference centre and contact point in France and Europe for all issues relating to the 3Rs in public and private research. FC3R will promote synergy and collaboration between the various stakeholders from the academic and industrial research communities in biology and chemistry, and to be attentive to the associative world.
FC3R, the French center for the 3Rs, aims at enhance the implementation of the 3Rs - Replace, Reduce, Refine - in France through education, promotion of responsible and innovative research, and transparent communication./p>
FC3R's approach is proactive and benevolent, engaging in concrete actions to federate and develop a synergistic community, to promote the positive initiatives that emanate from it, and to give visibility and impact to these efforts, within the scientific community, but also with the general public.
1. To fund high-impact projects for the 3Rs.
2. To develop and disseminate the training offer related to the application of the 3Rs.
3. To accompany research projects with an engineering offer in strict respect of the 3Rs principle.
4. To encourage the deposit of lines, unpublished data, and negative results.
5. To ensure transparent communication on the 3Rs principle and its application for scientific, regulatory, and educational purposes.
The founding members of the GIS are Inserm, CNRS, INRAE, INRIA, CEA, Institut Pasteur de Paris, France Universités and Udice.
